Recovery Program

The ARC Recovery Program provides long-term (2-4 months), recovery-oriented residential substance abuse treatment for up to 18 participants.

The program has three distinct phases:

  1. Pre-Treatment

  2. Skills for Recovery

  3. Post-Treatment

that seek to equip and empower individuals in the process of reclaiming their lives from problematic substance use. The 18 participants are made of guests in the CRF and those accessing the supportive recovery beds through the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (registered with the Assisted Living Registry).

The program utilizes numerous evidence-based concepts and techniques, such as Marlett’s Relapse Prevention, Cognitive Behavioural Theory, Dialectical Behavioural Theory, and the Transtheoretical Model of Change.

The ARC Recovery Program philosophy is informed by the community reinforcement approach:

A well-researched   approach to addiction treatment that emphasizes positively reinforcing sobriety by encouraging clients connected to community and involved activities that meet their needs without the use substances.

The program structure therefore combines group work, volunteerism, and skillsbased work in the mornings with community outings and activities in the afternoons.
